Snowbird, ESC has concluded the performance requirements of two new products:
- R134A OZONE FRIENDLY- 24K Air Conditioning ECU in the same frame size as our previously qualified model S-9160-18K-3 ECU. This unit was developed for AAI Corporation and Redstone Arsenal for use in the UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE program.
- Resulting from the environmental extremes in areas of combat involvement the need for air conditioners and environmental controlled units delivering the required cooling in various shelters and HUMV's necessitated this newly designed unit similar to that as illustrated in our model S9150-18KH-1, 230 VOLT SINGLE PHASE ECU. This newly designed unit is capable of furnishing 24,000 BTU'S cooling capacity at 50 CYCLES. At 60 CYCLES it can deliver 28,500 BTU'S with extreme ambient heat of 125° on the condenser side of the air conditioner/ECU. The importance of this unit is the ability to operate at 240 VOLTS at 50 HERTZ SINGLE PHASE and deliver 24,000 BTU's of cooling. Test results have just been concluded this past month and will be published on our website.
As released on April 2006 Environmental Systems finalized an OZONE FRIENDLY R134A REFRIGERANT- Environmental Control Unit for the US NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER -LACKEHURST. We have completed the first article performance testing of this unit part - #1559AS400-1 with the following results:
- Cooling capacity as tested at 122° F ambient on the condenser was . . . 38000 BTU's per hour.
- Heating capacity in heat pump reverse cycle mode at 0° outside ambient temperature was . . . 42,500 BTU's
- Supplemental heating at the same temperature as indicated in "b" above resulted in . . . 41,000 BTU's.
